An anti-war theme currently dominates this website.  This theme exists side-by-side with the Sites original purpose as a photographic portrayal of decades of urban industrial decline. War, however, specifically the potential for nuclear war, is the most pressing issue which faces humankind today; thus the shift in emphasis from capital abandonment of urban areas\u2013along with relevant topics, to the anti-war theme. But the two: war and abandonment, are related; they  share a cause which emphasizes material well-being over the human life of others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topics, however, range into several important areas and if you scroll down on the Home page you will notice a particular emphasis on monetary theory which closely, albeit probably not perfectly, aligns with Modern Monetary Theory (MMT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve also added a Page with a couple dozen or so citations to academic and think tank papers which give cleared-eyed context to the war in Ukraine. This is important because the corporate media failed miserably, and continues to fail miserably, in its presentation of the cause of the conflict in Ukraine. It is the weak spot of current-event-thinking journalists to present narratives without adequate historical context, i.e., Joe hit Tom, therefore Joe is evil, but the story fails to mention that Tom previously punched Joe six times before Joe’s initial punch on Tom. There is, of course, only so much the human mind can absorb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To document the original purpose of this Page– capital abandonment of an obsolete urban community, the site originally emphasized black & white photography taken mostly with a stealthy pocket camera and during the earlier years with less stealthy 35 millimeter cameras. Film development and prints from the earlier  35 millimeter days were processed in a makeshift dark room,  with a hand built enlarger which looked like an erector set, and utilized a lens taken from a no-name 35 millimeter camera–purchased for $25 at a local thrift store. All of that is to say that I’m not much of an equipment geek and solely wished to capture the powerful images of urban decline–and to do so as cheaply as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Site was originally constructed during 2003 and during 2020 turned into a blog format. The blog format provides an easy to publish platform upon which to express views developed over a lifetime of thought, and  built upon a foundation of studies in finance, economics, and law from Detroit’s Wayne State University. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
